New Jersey-based hotel developer Nehalkumar Gandhi has filed applications for a seven-story, 66-key hotel at 1893 Washington Avenue, located in the Tremont section of the West Bronx. The project would measure 28,910 square feet and rise 74 feet to its rooftop.
The hotel rooms would be located across the ground through seventh floors. A hotel lobby and accessory office space would be on the ground floor, with a breakfast area and fitness center located in the cellar.
Jamaica-based M.S. Savani Architect is the architect of record. The 5,981-square-foot assemblage is currently vacant. Two low-rise commercial buildings were demolished in April, records indicate. Construction is expected to begin next year, The Real Deal reported.
