New Jersey-based property owner Frank Ng has filed applications for a 32-story, 203-key hotel at 132 West 28th Street, in Chelsea. The new tower would measure 110,000 square feet and rise 326 feet to its rooftop.
The hotel rooms would be located across the third through 29th floors, while hotel amenities would round out the rest of the building. Extended-stay units are also likely in the works, as residential space is included in the plans.
A lounge and bar would be on the ground floor, followed by a fitness center and outdoor terrace on the second floor and conference rooms on the third. Additional conference rooms and a club would be on the 30th floor, Real Estate Weekly reported.
JWC Architect is the architect of record. The 12,345-square-foot assemblage consists of the buildings at 130-136 West 28th Street, although demolition permits are on file only for 132-134 West 28th Street. 132 West 28th Street is a five-story, 15-unit tenement building and was approved to be demolished in April 2014. 134 West 28th Street is a two-story building and passed pre-demolition inspection in March 2017.
