Scaffolding is now being assembled around the eight-story, 45,000-square-foot office building at 525 Broadway, located on the corner of Spring Street in SoHo. The site preparation signals the beginning of the building’s renovation. Silverback Development and JPMorgan Chase & Co. plan to reposition the property for a single office tenant’s use.
The building will receive interior upgrades and exterior repairs. Kutnicki Bernstein Architects is the architect of record. The property is located within the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District, which means the Landmarks Preservation Commission must approve any exterior alterations.
Chase Bank will retain 5,000 square feet of space on the ground floor for its commercial operations. A construction timeline has not been revealed.
