Construction is now five stories above street level on the nine-story, 70-key hotel project under development at 40-40 27th Street, located in the Queens Plaza section of Long Island City. The latest building permits indicate the structure will eventually measure 33,807 square feet and rise 95 feet to its rooftop.
Hotel rooms will spread across the ground through ninth floors. Hotel amenities, including a fitness center, meeting room, and breakfast area, will all be located in the cellar. There will also be two off-street parking spaces.
An anonymous Midtown South-based LLC is the property owner and Queens-based Ameriland Brook is the applicant of record. Outdated construction signage still reads that completion is anticipated in 2015, according to The Court Square Blog, although a realistic date would likely be early 2018.
