Construction is now 11 stories above street level on the 30-story, 359-unit mixed-use building under development at 37 Blue Slip, located on the East River waterfront in northern Greenpoint. The latest building applications indicate the tower will encompass 369,482 square feet and rise 340 feet to its pinnacle. 37 Blue Slip is the first high-rise to be built as part of the 5,000-unit Greenpoint Landing mega-development.
The ground floor will contain 1,173 square feet of retail space, followed by 359 residential units across the second through 29th floors. The apartments, which will be rentals, should average 811 square feet apiece.
Park Tower Group and Brookfield Property Partners are developing 37 Blue Slip, while Handel Architects is responsible for its design. Progress on the building can be seen thanks to photography by Field Condition.
Construction wrapped last year on Greenpoint Landing’s three affordable residential buildings at 21 Commercial Street, 33 Eagle Street, and 5 Blue Slip, containing a total of 293 affordable rental apartments.
