Demolition has reportedly begun on the former Boys and Girls Club of Hudson County facility at 235 Grand Street, in the Liberty Harbor section of downtown Jersey City, to make way for a 45-story, 549-unit mixed-use tower. The project will also feature 6,380 square feet of retail space and a 347-car parking garage in its base, Jersey Digs reported.
In addition to the tower, park space will be developed on a vacant lot to the south and a 10-story, 131-unit residential building will be built to the west at 101 Grove Street. The 10-story component won’t be built until the 45-story tower is completed. Completion of the tower is scheduled for late 2019. Ironstate Development Company is the developer and HLW International is behind the design.
