Construction appears to slowly be resuming on a long-stalled 16-story, 105-key hotel located at 139 Orchard Street, on the Lower East Side. Bowery Boogie also spotted a new rendering posted on-site of the latest plans for the project, now expected to be complete by Spring 2018. The 39,132-square-foot structure has already reached its final height of 155 feet to its rooftop.
Work is now underway to install the façade, although only a single window panel has been fastened on. A bar and lounge will be located on the ground floor, followed by hotel rooms up to the 15th floor. Fortuna Realty Group and Elk Investors are the developers after the duo acquired the site through an auction last year. Edward I. Mills & Associates is the architect of record.
