Construction is now underway on the sixth floor of the 63-story, 124-unit mixed-use tower under development at 138 East 50th Street, in Midtown East. Progress on the structure can be seen thank to a photos posted to the YIMBY Forums (h/t Curbed NY). The latest building permits indicate the tower will encompass 253,222 square feet and rise 803 feet.
There will be 4,588 square feet of retail space across the ground and cellar levels, followed by 124 residential units across the fifth through 61st floors. The apartments, condominiums, should average 1,706 square feet apiece. Ceruzzi Properties is the developer. Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is the design architect and SLCE Architects is the executive architect. Completion is expected in 2018.
