Construction is now seven floors above street level on the 22-story, 252-unit mixed-use tower under development at 416 Kent Avenue, located along the South Williamsburg waterfront. Work is underway on the ground floor at 420 Kent Avenue, directly to the south, where two more 22-story mixed-use towers, with an additional 605 residential units, are underway. Progress on the buildings can be tracked at the YIMBY Forums.
The latest building permits show that the entire complex will encompass 800,156 square feet once complete. The towers will rise 253 feet to the top of their parapets and will include a total of 15,867 square feet of retail space. There will be 857 rental apartments, of which twenty percent, or 172 units, will rent at below-market rates through the housing lottery. Units should average 703 square feet apiece.
