Renderings have been revealed of the planned redevelopment of two interconnected commercial buildings that currently house Macy’s at 422 Fulton Street, in Downtown Brooklyn. The redevelopment will create 620,000 square feet of office space across 10 floors, Real Estate Weekly reported.
Six upper floors in 422 Fulton Street will be converted to office space for the project, although Macy’s will retain four above-grade floors and two cellar levels for its retail operation. Macy’s space will measure 278,000 square feet. Floor plates in the office component, dubbed The Wheeler, will range from 30,000 square feet to 90,000 square feet.
Tishman Speyer and HNA Group are developing the office space, while Shimoda Design Group and Perkins Eastman are responsible for the architecture. FRCH Design Worldwide is designing Macy’s component. Completion of the office space is expected in mid-2019.
