Construction is now underway on the 38th floor of the gigantic 42-story, 1,028-unit mixed-use complex under development at 606 West 57th Street, located on the corner of 11th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums by prolific construction photographer Tectonic.
The latest building permits have the completed building encompassing 1,054,847 square feet and rising 450 feet to its upper-most roof. The complex will feature 1,028 rental apartments averaging 935 square feet apiece. Twenty percent of them, or 206 units, will permanently rent at below-market rates through housing lottery. There will also be 37,463 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
Amenities include a 400-car parking garage, a fitness center, and a residents’ lounge, among other spaces. TF Cornerstone is the developer. Arquitectonica is the design design architect and SLCE Architects is the executive architect. Completion is expected next year.
