Trinity Financial, MBD Community Housing Corporation, and the city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development have filed applications for a 28-story, 289-unit mixed-use tower at 425 Grand Concourse, located on the corner of East 144th Street in the South Bronx’s Mott Haven section. The project, on a 29,161-square-foot now-vacant site, would encompass 314,679 square feet and rise 290 feet to its roof.
The project, expected to be the largest ultra-low energy building in the city, will feature 289 residential units, all of which will be designated as affordable and rent at below-market rates. The base of the tower will include a charter school, community space, medical offices, and a 12,678-square-foot supermarket. Garrison Playground will also receive a renovation.
