Brooklyn-based Dunn Development Corp. and the New York City Housing Authority have filed applications for a 12-story, 180-unit mixed-use building at 405 Dumont Avenue, located within the Van Dyke Houses public housing complex in Brownsville. The project will encompass 196,331 square feet and rise 123 feet in height.
All 180 rental apartments in the building, dubbed Dumont Commons, will rent at well below market rates through the housing lottery. There will also be 14,749 square feet of community facility space across the ground and cellar levels that will be used as an urgent care medical facility, a children’s daytime center, and a wellness center, The Real Deal reported.
SLCE Architects is the architect of record and work is expected to begin later this year.
