Renderings have been revealed for a planned seven-story, 20-unit mixed-use building at 282 Grand Street, located between Eldridge and Forsyth streets on the Lower East Side. The project is expected to measure roughly 20,000 square feet and will contain condominiums and an art gallery. The apartments will be 550-square-foot one-bedrooms, except for the two penthouses, the Architect’s Newspaper reported.
Architecture firm Peterson Rich Office is designing and developing the project. New building applications have not been filed, although demolition permits are with the Department of Buildings to raze three existing two-story structures at the site. Groundbreaking is expected in the coming months, with completion scheduled for late 2018.
