    The three existing houses proposed to be demolished appear, in their two to two-and-a-half story with pitched-roof massing, to be very early –quite possibly among the earliest remaining in the building stock on Manhattan.
    The proposed ‘retro’ replacement design could totally believably have been produced mid-century last (say mid-to-late-60’s). As such it would purport to replace valuable historic urban fabric with a perplexing and anomalous non-sequitur-of-a-building.
    Careful further study of options and alternatives is strongly advised here.
