Construction is now four stories above street level on the eight-story, 73-unit apartment-hotel under development at 138 Bowery, in Little Italy. Progress on the project can be seen thanks to a Bowery Boogie report. The latest building permits indicate the structure will encompass 53,088 square feet and rise 85 feet to its roof.
There will be retail space across the cellar, ground, and ground-floor mezzanine levels, followed by a 46-key hotel across the second through fifth floors. Twenty-seven residential units will be located on the sixth through eighth floors. The apartments should average 512 square feet.
Emmut Properties is the developer and Allen Shinfeld’s Middle Village-based firm is the architect of record. Completion is expected by the end of the year.
