Construction is now two stories above street level on the 37-story, 330-key Marriott-branded Renaissance hotel under development at 112 West 25th Street, in Chelsea. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the tower will encompass 181,998 square feet and rise 432 feet to the top of its bulkhead structure.
A restaurant and banquet hall will be located on the ground and second floors. The hotel rooms will be located across the second through 34th floors, followed by another restaurant on the 36th floor. Lam Group is the developer and Nobutaka Ashihara’s Financial District-based firm is the architect. Completion is expected in 2018.
